*NEW*West
Nile virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne disease that was originally
found in Africa. Most often, WNV is spread by the bite of an
infected mosquito. Mosquitoes are WNV carriers ("vectors") that
become infected when they feed on infected birds. Infected
mosquitoes can then spread WNV to humans and other animals when they
bite. See Yuba County Public Health's West
Nile Virus Page for more information.

*NEW*Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Prevention
In the United States, Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome (SIDS) is the major cause of death in infants from one
month to one year of age. SIDS happens to families of all
social, ethnic and economic groups. Most SIDS deaths occur when
babies are between two and four months of age.
Currently there is no known way to prevent SIDS. But
after many years of research, we do know that babies sleep safer
when placed on their back on a firm surface. Since the early
1990’s when the United States initiated the Back to Sleep
Campaign the number of SIDS deaths has dropped by over 50
percent. The links below contain
brochures on the top 10 ways to reduce a child's risk of SIDS.

Vital Signs is monthly report produced by the CDC that offers
recent data on the important topics of key diseases, conditions or
risk factors. Vital Signs is updated monthly coinciding with
the monthly release of the Vital Signs Report.

Flu and Tdap Vaccines
are available during clinic hours for children ages 3 and over and
for adults.
Although other childhood immunizations are no
longer offered at our clinic, we can recommend other local
Medical Providers to complete needed immunizations.
TB skin tests
and HIV testing will still be provided during clinic hours.
