Administrative Process

 

  • Notice of Violation issued
  • Notice and Order issued
  • If property owner fails to comply with Notice and Order a Notice of Noncompliance is recorded and Administrative Penalties begin to accrue
  • If property owner appeals Notice and Order the appeal is heard by the Administrative Law Judge
  • Decision is entered by Administrative Law Judge
  • If needed, a warrant to enter property is obtained
  • Bids are obtained by contractors to carry out Notice and Order
  • Contract is written
  • Abatement is performed
  • Property Owner is billed
  • If bill is paid by property owner, a Notice of Compliance is recorded and the case is closed
  • If bill remains unpaid, a Cost Accounting Hearing is prepared and heard before the Board of Supervisors
  • Boards decision is recorded
  • Lien is recorded against property
  • Request to Tax Collectors office to have lien placed against tax roll is submitted
  • Case closed
