Background and Internal Investigations
 Human Resources conducts pre-employment background investigations for applicants prior to appointment to ensure timely identification of any history, criminal or otherwise, which could adversely affect job performance or public safety. In addition, Human Resources is responsible for investigating violations of Discrimination or Harassment.

Pre-Employment Investigations
Human Resources independently conducts and/or contracts out pre-employment background investigations as required.

Disciplinary Action
Human Resources coordinates with the various County Departments to address performance deficiencies or behavior issues.
Harrassment/Discrimination/Retaliation Investigations
The Human Resources department independently conducts and/or contracts out as appropriate internal investigations for sexual harassment, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other alleged infractions of employment law.
