What services are
offered through the Employment Services Division?
Employment Services staff can
provide eligibility determination and case management services
for California Work Opportunity and
Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), a welfare program that
provides cash assistance and services to eligible families with
children. If a family is short on cash and needs help with
housing, food, clothes, and medical care, they may qualify to
receive immediate short-term help. Welfare to Work
services are available to eligible CalWORKs adults to help them
prepare for work and find a job.

4. How can I
get assistance with childcare?
We can
help you pay for your childcare expenses while you participate
in your Welfare-to-Work activity. You can choose the
childcare provider you want, like childcare centers, relatives,
friends, or neighbors. You may be expected to pay for part
of the childcare costs depending on how much money you earn from
a job. We have partnered with
Children's Home Society to take care of the childcare
payment program and you will be referred to them for your
childcare needs. Your childcare provider will be paid
directly by Children's Home Society.
