County WIDE PROJECTS
General Plan Update: On November 18, 2008,
the Board of Supervisors will conduct a Land Use Alternatives Study
Session/Workshop to discuss and provide direction regarding Land Use
Alternatives. This study session/workshop is a follow-up to the
Board study session that was held on November 6, 2008. A series of Board of Supervisors’
workshops have been held between December, 2007 and November, 2008.

Affordable Housing Task Force:
The Board of Supervisors established an “Affordable Housing Task Force”
in 2005 to explore and recommend ways to ensure diversity of housing
options for residents of the unincorporated area of the County. The six
member task force includes representatives from the Building Industry,
California Rural Legal Assistance (affordable housing advocate), an
advocate for people with disabilities and County staff. Status: A
series of town hall meetings are scheduled for June 17th, 24th
& 26th, 2008, as a kickoff to the public input phase in the
process to update the Yuba County Housing Element. Contact: Kevin

Parks
Master Plan:
The Public Works Department recently completed a Parks Master Plan for
the County. The project identified and evaluated existing park and
recreational opportunities as well as developed a plan to address
current and future needs.
