Public Counter
The Planning Department has open counter hours during the CDSA "Power Hour" from 8:00 am - 9:00 am daily. If outside the "Power Hour" time, fill out a Zoning Inquiry form and a planner will contact you with the requested information. General zoning inquiries will typically be responded to within 2 business days. Land Use Confirmations and research requests will typically be processed within 5 business days.

Will be accepted Monday - Friday 7:30am to Noon and 1pm to 5:00pm
In the event that a planner is not available for intake, the receptionist will hold your application for processing. You will receive a copy of the receipt, project number, and planner assigned to the project by email within 1 business day.

Specific Projects
If you wish to discuss a specific project application, please contact the planner assigned to the project to set up a meeting. Meetings can be scheduled by calling (530) 749-5470 or by email at . Please make sure you provide your project number when requesting a meeting.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to enhance the community's physical, social and economic character through comprehensive review of individual development projects for consistency with the community's long-term goals and objectives.


The Planning Department is charged with implementing local, state and federal policy related to development, land division and related land use processes. Individual development proposals are reviewed for consistency with the County of Yuba General Plan and Zoning Code, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Subdivision Map Act and other State and Federally enacted legislation. Additionally, the Planning Department is responsible for coordinating the dissemination of the above referenced information to the general public, developers and their agents, public officials and governmental agencies.
